Segun Aiyesan is a self-taught artist and has been at it professionally since 1997. His fascination with nature and colours started quite early. As a young boy, his favourite hobby was collecting comics and trying to draw the characters. “I love art. It propelled me to be better at many other things I had to do alongside, since I was free to indulge in it, as long as nothing else suffered. My artistic development was actually channeled towards self-fulfillment rather than perpetuating a career direction.” Segun went on to study Electrical and Electronic Engineering. Segun Aiyesan lives in Port Harcourt
“…Life is meaningless until we apply virtuous substance to it. The ideals and values we hold, the desires and the efforts we place at dignifying our time on earth, ascribe robustness to our existence and give us a sense of direction to our journey. My lens is grossly limited in the scope of perception, but I think time is a gift that we need to unwrap and enjoy, with all its vacillations and attendant uncertainties. It is a responsibility to be the hero of our lives. I don’t know the size of the bucket, but I just dropped one more pebble in it…” – Segun Aiyesan 18 March 2023
Segun Aiyesan’s works are produced from a persona of hard work, passion, quest, and artistic eloquence.
